A home that feels different the moment the lights go on
Lighting design villa: life at home as the starting point
This modernist villa doesn’t call for lighting that demands attention. Its strength lies in the opposite: light that is present where needed, recedes where possible, and allows the residents to enjoy their home every day without even thinking about it.
Every space, its own approach
The lighting design starts from life in the house: from the first light in the dressing room and bathroom to an evening at the long dining table or a quiet moment in the seating area. Every spot received its own approach. Sometimes very subtle, with indirect light that almost seems to emerge from the architecture itself. In other places deliberately focused, for example on a work of art, the wooden staircase, or a surface that deserves extra depth.
The fixtures disappear from view as much as possible; what remains is only the effect of the light.
“The best compliment is when no one sees our work, only the atmosphere it creates.”
Stefanie,
lighting architect
The garden remains part of the house in the evening
That experience doesn’t stop at the glass. When it gets dark outside, the facade, terrace, and garden take over the story. Trees are highlighted like natural sculptures, paths get just enough light, and the sleek volumes of the villa are defined with a few targeted interventions. As a result, the garden remains part of the interior from within the home in the evening, instead of disappearing into the dark. Not a collection of fixtures, then, but light that lives along with the architecture, the surroundings, and especially with the people who are at home here.
