Good light does not happen by chance. We determine in advance what is needed where and bring everything together in one clear lighting plan.
A lighting study is the most complete lighting trajectory you can undertake. No quick choices, no compromises afterwards, but a thoughtful lighting plan that is woven from the start with the architecture, the materials, and the life that will take place in your space.
We start with questions. How do you live? What do you find beautiful? What feeling do you want to take home with you every day? Only once we know that do we start designing. Step by step, tailored to your project.
Why a lighting study at Lichthuis?
A good lighting plan goes further than determining where a fixture goes. Light determines how you experience a space, how you feel in it, and how comfortable it feels in daily use. That is why at Lichthuis we do not start from fixtures, but from you, your space, and your way of life. Since 1995, we have specialized in lighting. We combine that experience with our technical knowledge of the latest LED technology. This is how we design lighting that is not only beautiful and atmospheric, but also technically correct, sustainable, and long-lasting.
Our approach is personal and honest. We advise what we believe truly fits your project and create every lighting design with the same attention we would have for ourselves. From light quality and fixture choice to the right price-quality ratio.
An important difference is that we do not just advise on lighting, but also develop and produce it ourselves. As a result, we know our fixtures and the technology behind them inside out. We also remain involved after the lighting study. From the lighting concept and technical development to the installation and final adjustment: we can guide the entire process for you. This is how we bring people, light, and space together. Because for us, a lighting plan is only successful when not only is everything technically correct, but the atmosphere of the space also truly touches you.

How we work
During an introductory meeting, we get to know the project, daily habits, and interests better. In the design phase, we use our creativity and passion for light and space to translate this information into lighting solutions that perfectly match the lighting needs.
We schedule a second appointment where we present the preliminary lighting plan and let you experience the effects of the proposed lighting elements in our showroom and light studio.
After the second session, we finalize the preliminary design into the definitive lighting plan. We provide this both digitally and in print. We also prepare a quote for the chosen recessed and surface-mounted lighting.
After ordering the (recessed) lighting, we prepare a complete technical file including a technical plan. This way, all parties working on the project know what preparations we expect from them for the realization of the lighting. The development of the technical file depends on your project. So make your appointment in good time.
For an optimal realization of the lighting plan, one of our technical experts will visit the site, between the electrical and plastering work, to check whether all preparatory work has been carried out correctly. This allows us to detect any inaccuracies in time.
As soon as the finishing works are completed, the lighting is installed by our experienced technicians or under your own management. After installation, one of our lighting experts will drop by to aim the spots, set the lighting scenes, and perform a final check.

The price of a Lichthuis light study depends on the scale and complexity of your project. We provide a clear quote in advance based on your plans.
Do you purchase the lighting from Lichthuis afterwards? Then we convert the design costs into purchase vouchers, meaning your Lichthuis light study pays for itself.

Certainly. If a lighting plan already exists, Lichthuis does not start a full lighting study from scratch. We work from the existing plan and determine together which fixtures best suit the various lighting points.
In doing so, Lichthuis looks not only at functionality, but also at atmosphere, light quality, and the way the light brings your space to life.

We’d love to! For a first appointment, we prefer to welcome you to the Lichthuis showroom and lighting studio. There, you can experience for yourself what light, light color, and different lighting atmospheres do to a space.
For follow-up appointments, a digital meeting is of course also possible.
