Light in dialogue with architecture
A lighting concept in which daylight and artificial light remain in dialogue
This architectural home relies heavily on its natural light: large openings, well-thought-out facades, spaces that open up to the sun. For our lighting concept, we took that very fact as our starting point. Instead of simply adding artificial light to what was already there, we designed a system in which daylight and artificial light remain in constant dialogue, from the first morning rays until the moment the sun disappears behind the facade.
A play of light and shadow
We started with the architecture itself: where the daylight enters, how it moves through the spaces, and which shadows naturally emerge. Based on this, we carefully chose every light position, intending not just to provide extra light, but to create a subtle interplay of light, shadow, harmony, and tension.
As the day progresses, that balance changes naturally. The artificial light gradually complements the natural daylight until, by evening, it takes over the full experience of the architecture.
“The most beautiful lighting plan is the one where you can never say exactly where the daylight ends and the artificial light begins.”

Architecture and custom craftsmanship merge
To strengthen this interplay, we designed and manufactured several lighting fixtures entirely to measure in our own workshop for this project. Their geometric design is no coincidence: it consciously follows the architectural lines of the house, so that each fixture feels like an extension of the home itself, rather than an added object. This creates a lighting concept where architecture, daylight, and custom lighting do not just exist side by side, but merge completely, from sunrise until late in the evening.
