Balance between architecture and light
A lighting design for a contemporary home with stables
An old farmhouse makes way for a contemporary home with stables, designed by top Belgian architect Pascal François. The new volumes are carefully embedded in the landscape, respecting the rural surroundings with special attention to proportions, materials, and detailing—a precision we wanted to extend into the lighting.
Light that follows the architecture, never takes it over
Light is never just added here; it always follows the architecture and strengthens its character. Sometimes extremely discreet and integrated, sometimes deliberately graphic or pronounced, depending on what the space requires.
Lines of light accentuate volumes, indirect light brings peace and depth, while several special light objects give the space its own identity, exactly in the places where it is appropriate.
From home to landscape
This balance is also extended outdoors. Outdoor lighting was treated with the same discipline as the interior: the lighting guides the landscape without taking it over and connects the home, garden, and stables into a single whole.
A project where every detail has its place and nothing feels accidental: balance and equilibrium, not only in the architecture but also in the light that falls across it, from the first line of light inside to the last outdoor lighting by the stables.
