Light designed for people and materials
Human Centric Lighting and 100% custom work for the offices of Ncbham and Materiatek
For the offices of this renowned architectural firm in Brussels, we designed and realized a lighting concept in which architecture, visual comfort, and well-being are closely linked. The former industrial building was thoroughly renovated, with great respect for the distinct character of the existing architecture: raw brick, visible structures, and technical elements remained deliberately present, and we wanted to reflect that character in the lighting, not hide it.
Human Centric Lighting for a natural work rhythm
In the workspaces, we applied Human Centric Lighting (HCL) with Nomaled Nichia Dynasolis technology: a lighting concept that allows color temperature and light intensity to evolve throughout the day, following the example of natural daylight. In the morning, the space receives a cooler, activating light, while towards the end of the workday, it gradually becomes warmer and calmer. In this way, the lighting supports the employees’ biorhythm and the working environment remains pleasant all day long.
In the firm’s extensive material library, a very high color rendering index (CRI) was also essential. Architects and interior designers evaluate colors, textures, and materials for their own projects daily, so the light had to be not only comfortable but also true to life down to the smallest detail.
“For architects, light is not a detail, but a working tool. It has to be right.”

100% custom work in raw aluminum
For this project, all fixtures were 100% manufactured in our own workshop. For both aesthetic and ecological reasons, we chose raw aluminum. The pure look fits perfectly with the industrial character of the building, and because we produced everything ourselves, we could specifically tailor each fixture to the architecture and the required lighting performance, rather than starting from a standard model.
The result is a lighting concept in which lighting technology, custom work, and architecture form a single whole: functional where necessary, refined in its presence, and designed around the people, materials, and spaces it illuminates.
